Planetary Shift Every 570 Million Years

Earth’s age, 4.54 billion years, divided by the eight worlds from Io to Earth is about 567.5 million years — rounded here in 2015 as about 570. That number is arithmetic. It is not a heating law and not a transport law.

Dates other people had already published were set next to that bin of time:

• Cambrian diversification, about 570 to 530 million years ago.
• Venus’s volcanic lid, often read as a few hundred million years old.
• Yoder 1979: the Laplace lock of Io, Europa, and Ganymede may be younger than 500 million years.
• Titan river networks that look too fresh for a billion years of the present drizzle.
• Mars floods in the last 500 million years.
