Planetary Formation: Tangible Sequence of Earths Evolution

Abstract (2016): A more comprehensive answer to planetary formation starts with the by far most massive planetary body which is Jupiter. A common error is the assumption that everything in the solar system formed relatively at the same time within the first hundred million years. Another problem is the reliance upon counting craters to long-term age a terrestrial body.

“This study focuses on empirical facts to reach the hypothesis rather than explaining the physics of the process.” That sentence survived into Paper I as the transport fence.

The 2016 sequence already ran GRS → Io → Europa → Ganymede → Callisto → Titan → Triton → Mars → Earth, with Venus and Mercury spent. It still treated an embryo as inside the Spot, used migrate verbs, and dated stages as if they were clocks. Those three habits are withdrawn.

What was already useful: Io surface <1 Myr (McEwen 2000); Europa ice ~10 Myr (Zahnle); Titan rivers too fresh (Black / Perron 2012); Triton surface <10 Myr (Schenk 2007); Mars volcanoes a couple of Myr (Neukum 2004); Yoder 1979 on a young Laplace lock; 4.55 Gyr / 8 as the window.
