Io has an iron core just like Earth, meaning it could have its own magnetic field. Cambridge Photographic Guide clipping: sulphur in Io’s plumes; most of Earth’s sulphur is thought to be in its core.
Earth’s inner core 1,250 km + outer core 2,200 km = 3,450 km (as posted). Inner core diameter listed 2,500 km; entire core diameter listed 6,900 km.
Triton diameter 2,700 km. Frozen nitrogen crust over an icy mantle believed to cover a core of rock and metal. Sparsely cratered surface with smooth volcanic plains.
The live sequence still uses those cores as stage notes. The numbers on this page are the 2014 notebook, not a new measurement.
